Exotics at RTC 2/20/2010 Recap

There was a great turnout for Exotics at RTC yesterday. Below are photos from the day. There was an amazing number of exotics there.

Unfortunately, after the event there was a Ford GT that crashed but thankfully the driver and the passenger escaped with minor injuries. Update: I found out that the cause of the crash was basically driver error. The tires were cold during acceleration on an on-ramp (520) and the car spun.  Apparently, there was an issue with a Lamborghini on the way to the event too.  Update: this minor accident was also due to driver error. The tires were new and cold in this case.  Also, some folks in some modified cars were not being respectful of RTC or others. Apparently, one person in a Mustang did a long burnout in front of Desert Fire and others were not driving respectfully. Cheers.

Update: Here's a reminder of the rules from one of the organizers.
"Somewhere along the way we lost our guidelines for the event, I posted these rules to live by here for everyone to read.

I don't really get the organizer getting all huffy about a burnout when some jackass in a FGT actually totals a car after the event.

What is worse?

Clearly both were asshats but please...

Yeah, both are not good. The thing about the burnout is that the organizers want to keep a good reputation with the people that run RTC. That way they can keep the event going.

Crashing a Ford GT a couple miles up the highway is a bit different than stopping your '96 Mustang the middle of the street in front of everybody at the event and laying 100yds of rubber. i dont recall the any of the actual Exotics doing burnouts.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't witness any burnouts either.

I don't know the circumstances of the Ford GT crash. So, it's difficult to say if it was driver error or what...
