Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé unveiling at Bellevue dealer

Rolls-Royce Coupe unveiled
The president of Rolls-Royce was on hand at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bellevue showroom to unveil the new Phantom Coupé. It is a marvelous looking car that is quite luxurious as one would imagine. It was even quite comfortable for a tall bloke like myself (6'6"). The president was even gracious enough to take a photo of me sitting in the car. He was quite personable and showed everyone some of the unique features of the car. They included a fold out tailgate like chair in the trunk, a starry night like headliner, suicide doors that open & close at the touch of a button, and storage slots for umbrellas as well. As weird as this may sound, the car reminded me of a modernized gangster car from the 1940s. There was also some great food and wine from the 4th Street Grill. It was a fun event although I must say I felt a little out of place in my middle class attire. Cheers.

Coffee & Cars - 8/23/2008

Lamborghini Diablo GT
I only stayed for a little over an hour this time at Coffee & Cars but it was very cool. There were three Lamborghinis there including the apparently rare Diablo GT circa 2000. A loud green Murcielago was parked just up the street and a brown Diablo was right next to the GT. Across the street were two other exotics, a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Ferrari 430 Spider. We had fun chatting about the huge engine that's practically the size of an aircraft motor in the Diablo GT. Click the photo above or the ones below to jump to more. Ciao.

Bellevue Bentley event at Seastar restaurant

Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed
Bellevue Bentley hosted an event today showcasing two of their beautiful cars. This included the fast but luxurious Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed. They had some great food for those who came that was provided by the Seastar restaurant. I think most people are looking forward to the event at the dealership tomorrow though! Click the photo above or the ones below to jump to more. Cheers.

Top Gear has an official YouTube channel!!!

Check it out - http://www.youtube.com/user/TopGear. Now people don't have to feel guilty about watching nefariously uploaded Top Gear vids from Belgian high school kids. Thank goodness, that there's one less serious issue in the world now! Ciao. [image source - ytimg.com]

Gumball 3000 rally participants make a stop in North Korea

According to the Associated Press, the North Koreans opened the doors to their country to the wild participants of the Gumball 3000 rally. Apparently, they wrapped up the rally last Saturday in Beijing. Here's a link to the whole route - http://www.gumball3000.com/rally . More info about their stop at an "Axis of Evil" location about this after the jump - http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/BusinessTravel/wireStory?id=5590780 . Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed

Ah yes, the Bentley. Of course it evokes imagery of champagne and caviar. However, this model will eat your classic muscle car for breakfast and burp in your face sucka! ;) It does have impressive stats I must say. For such a large luxury auto it rockets from 0 - 60 in a mere 4.5 seconds and has an whopping top speed of 200, count them, 200 mph! Dude! I don't know about you but I was shocked. So... if you're in the market to possibly buy one of these bad boys talk to the dealer in Bellevue. They have some events coming up next weekend that you won't want to miss! Cheers and don't forget to drink your tea with your pinkie finger out.

Formula Drift recap (Monroe, WA)

IMG_0870
Formula Drift was awesome! It was really wet at one point later in the day but that didn't stop the drivers or the crowd. The former rally driver T. Foust was there ripping it up but was knocked out of the running by a spin out. Full results are here - http://formulad.com/pro-championship/seattle-results.php. What's your favorite production car for "the ring" in Forza 2?

I've found, the hard way, that all wheel drive cars like the Gallardo and R8 are much more forgiving than the Ferrari 430 or Koenigsegg CCX. My beautiful CCX was seriously banged up and missing the rear wing after crashing twice. I was doing a little better in the 430 but still wiped out. The Lamborghini Gallardo and Audi R8 are my favorites so far around the grueling Nürburgring. What are yours? Cheers. [image source - forzamotorsport.net]

http://formulad.com/pro-championship/seattle.html has all the details and ticket info. It's going to be hosted at Evergreen Speedway and the gates open at noon. I'm going to shoot photos of the event. They're going to have practices and an autograph session before the competition begins at around 5:30 pm. Apparently, there are parties Friday night in Seattle too before the drifting action on Saturday. Ciao. [image source - formulad.com]

Hot Import Nights Seattle recap

IMG_0642
HIN Seattle was great. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I went to shoot photos for a certain import tuner magazine. There were three Formula Drift cars there for folks to drool on. There were loads of hot cars, models, dancers, and events too. Click the photo above or the ones below to jump to more. Peace out. Oh and if you decide to go sometime don't drink too many NOS samples like I did... My photos and a write up made it into the August issue of Carbon8 mag too - http://www.carbon8mag.com/issue/downloadcenter.php.
